7 non negotiable things we must do on Every Disney Vacation

A Disney Vacation is the ultimate way to spend time with your family. We cannot think of anywhere else that provides continues entertainment and relaxation (yes, you can relax at Disney World!) in a magical setting. There is truly something for everyone.

We have created this list of 7 things we must do on each visit to make our trip “complete”. Below is our list of 7 non negotiable things we must do. We hope this inspires you to incorporate some of these on your vacation.

1. Ride Around on the Monorail

The Monorail is an attraction on it’s own but when you are heading to the parks, it’s hard to enjoy the actual experience since it is usually the destination that is all you can think about.

We love heading over to the Monorail and taking in the surroundings. We usually do this just before we officially visit the parks and the excitement leading up to them is much more thrilling. The Monorail takes you right passed the gates of Magic Kingdom where you can see peeks of Cinderella Castle and my favorite attraction, Space Mountain. Switch trains at the transfer station where the Monorail takes you right to the edge of Epcot and back.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery

2. Visit the Grand Floridian Lobby

The Grand Floridian needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. It is one of the most beautiful resorts. The elegant decor and atmosphere makes you feel like royalty. Don’t be shy to head over to the resort and take in the great atmosphere.

We make a point to visit during the evening where in the Lobby, we are entertained by a live Jazz Band. You may even see me get so wrapped up in the moment that I end up dancing along. Sorry, Bruce lol!  😉

3. Fireworks at the Polynesian

The Magic Kingdom hosts one of the most outstanding firework shows I have ever seen. The fireworks light up the entire sky.

We have found that the absolute best place to view the fireworks are at the Polynesian Village Resort Beach. We head over to Captain Cooks to grab a hot chocolate or other beverage and find a nice spot along the beach. If you arrive early enough, you may also catch another great night time show, the Electrical Water Pageant along the Seven Seas Lagoon.

4. Dress up

This is by far the absolute non negotiable thing we must do as a family. Obviously it is important to feel comfortable in the hot Florida sun but there’s something about “dressing up” while in Walt Disney World makes us feel extra special.

5. Tonga Toast

Banana stuffed heavenly goodness. Enough said 😉 It’s a Must Do.

6. Visit Hollywood studios

Hollywood Studios is currently undergoing many changes but it is still a park that is very near and dear to our heart. We love the nostalgia of old hollywood and it is also home to some of our favorite restaurants.

7 . Buy a Disney Coffee Mug

This started as a quick, inexpensive souvenir and has now become a tradition for us all. The unique mugs are a great way to bring home a piece of the magic.
